Lonnie Rashied Lynn (mas conocido como Common), nació en Chicago en 1972 y es un famoso rapero afroamericano, venerado por sus seguidores por su forma distinta de hacer rap. Sus letras hablan del amor, la espiritualidad y la mayoría de las veces tienen un mensaje, características que lo han enmarcado dentro del “conscious rap” o "Rap consciente". Sus canciones tienen influencias de blues, hip-hop y soul.
