Nacida en Latanya Hinton y se crió en New Haven (EE.UU.), Akua Naru es una reconocida artista de hip hop, ella dejo su ciudad para trasladarse a Colonia, Alemania, donde actualmente reside y crea música.

''He escrito, cantado, y actuado desde que puedo recordar, nunca he descubierto la música; la música y la rima me descubrió '' A lo largo de su viaje por esta vida, esta artesana de la palabra, ha tenido muchas paradas en, Filadelfia, China y Ghana, entre otros, todos los cuales  han contribuido en su  sabiduría y la perspectiva, la cual es evidente en su música.
